John François is the author of five novels and several short stories. He spent twelve years in the U.S. Navy, then taught history in American schools overseas.
François is retired and lives in Lafayette, LA. His first three novels are set on the prairies of southwestern Louisiana, which was settled extensively by the Acadians who have become known as Cajuns.
He carefully researches the era of each of his novels, giving a rich context in which to set them. His novels have received many accolades by discriminating readers. He says, “If my readers love my characters and are captivated by their stories, and if they learn a bit of exciting history in the process, then I have accomplished what I set out to do... entertain completely, and educate without being obvious.”
